***** Fiction Begins *****
They reached the Shin-Aomori station at around 2.30p.m and they exchanged to the JR Hakucho limited express to Hakodate which would cost them another two hours into their journey. Finally after they reached Hakodate, they took the JR Hakuto limited express to Sapporo which will add another three and a half hours into their journey. Their total cost of expenditure was ¥23,000 per person and it took them nine hours to reach Sapporo from Tokyo. They could have taken the faster route which was by air but due to their tight budget, they took the daytime train instead.
"Uwaaaah!! We're finally here!!" Ryosuke said as he yawned at his seat.
"Yeah!! Next time we decide to go for a vacation, make sure we plan it way ahead..." Yuto said loudly but in a polite manner.
"Yup! We can all save money that way!" Ryosuke added.
"Argh!! Shut up and just get out! I know I messed up!" Hikaru suddenly said and exited the train.
"Hikaru!! Chotto! Ah! Fuck! Nice one guys!" Daiki said and chased after Hikaru.
"Was it something we said?" Ryosuke asked and looked at Yuto.
"Come on guys... You know it was Hikaru's idea that we go to Sapporo and he told us the last minute right when the holidays started." Yuzaki said as he stood up from his seat.
Before Ryosuke or Yuto could reply, they suddenly heard a loud snorring sound. Yuzaki turned around and saw his little brother still asleep peacefully despite what had happened.
"Hey! Yuri! Wake up!" Yuzaki said as he shook his brother trying to wake him.
Amazingly, Yuri was still sound asleep no matter what Yuzaki did to wake him up. Knowing that there was no other way to wake his brother, Yuzaki decided to piggy-back Yuri.
"Where's Aki-nii?" Michiyo asked Kota who was standing near Airi.
"It must be Yuri.. He's the trouble maker in our group..." Kota said while Airi snuggled her arm across Kota's waist and hugged him followed by a sweet peck on their lips.
"Eeeeewww!! Why can't people remember that some of us are underage?!" Michiyo said with a grossed tune of voice.
"Who said underage can't kiss??" Ryutaro suddenly approached Muchiyo with him making his lips looked as if he was going to kiss her.
"Eeeeewwwww!! NO WAY!! Get lost!!" Michiyo said and slapped Ryutaro hard on the face.
"Itte!!" Ryutaro shouted in pain.
"OH GOD!! WHAT HAVE I DONE?!?!" Michiyo asked herself and tried to console Ryutaro.
"Ryu-chan... Gomen... Gomen..." Michiyo apologized again and again to Ryutaro.
Being a good boy-friend, Ryutaro accepted Michiyo's apology without any grudge held against her. Michiyo was relieved when Ryutaro said he wasn't angry but it wasn't enough to satisfy her. Michiyo offered to carry her bags together with Ryutaro's. At first, Ryutaro refused but Michiyo insisted and in the end, Ryutaro obliged.
"Uwaahh.. Isn't he lucky?" Yuya said suddenly.
"What?! Because Michi-chan is that kind?! Then find someone like her!!!" Aya scolded Yuya suddenly.
"What are you talking about?! I was talking about the Chinen brothers!!" Yuya scolded Aya back and pointed to the train's exit.
Everybody that was looking at the fighting couple looked at the direction that Yuya was pointing to and they saw the Chinen brothers exiting the train. But one of the brothers was exiting the train not like the others. Yuri was being carried out on Yuzaki's back and everybody that was watching felt touched by what they saw. Although the Chinen brothers fight often, nothing in this world may deny the brotherly love that they had for each other.
"Yuzaki-nii, watch out for the gap..." Ryosuke who had exited before Yuzaki said.
"Ryo-chan, can you help me take my bags?" Yuzaki asked for Ryosuke's help.
"No worries Aki-nii, I took them already!" Yuto replied from Yuzaki's back while carrying his and their bags.
After disembarking, they joined up with the others and they walked to the exit gate. They waited by a small bus stand in-front of the station while Hikaru and Kota went to the bus ticket counter to collect the bus tickets that Hikaru had booked when he bought the train tickets. With the bus tickets in hand, Hikaru and Kota joined back with the others and after about ten minutes, the bus arrived and they got on.
"Yuri.. Wake up... WAKE UP!!" Yuzaki slapped his brother after sitting him on the seat next to him.
"Itte!!" Yuri said when he woke up suddenly from his slumberland.
Everybody laughed seeing the drama that the Chinen brothers were doing. As usual, Aya and Yuya were sitting at the back most seats of their mini tour bus. They laughed at what they saw and Aya suddenly leaned her head on Yuya's shoulder.
"What's wrong?" Yuya asked Aya.
"Nothing... I'm just enjoying this moment..."
"You're cute... That's why I love you Aya-chan..." Yuya replied.
The bus began moving and everyone was on their way to the inn. Deep in everyone's heart, they felt excited except for one person. Yuzaki felt a little bit worried about his dream earlier on the train. It felt so real and that wasn't the first time he had that sort of dream. The last time he had a similar dream was a few years back when he dreamt about his father being shot and robbed. After a few days, the bad news came and his father was really shot and robbed. Luckily, he had told his father about the dream a day before and his father took the safety measures to wear a bullet proof vest underneath his work attire. Yuzaki's mother didn't believe that the dream was connected to his father being shot since his father was the chief police in Tokyo and he was always targeted by crook all over the country. His mother started to believe him a few months after his father was shot when he dreamt about his sister falling down the gymnastic pole during her rehearsal and the incident happened exactly how he described it.
"Is that dream another premonition?" Yuzaki asked himself and looked to Daiki, "If it's true, Daiki would be in danger. But I can't tell him now... I can't ruin our holiday spirit..."
"Aki-chan, daijoubu?" Kota asked his classmate from the seat next to him, "You look as if you've seen a ghost."
"Ah! Nothing... Just a lil. bit tired." Yuzaki replied with a slight smile.
"If you say so..." Kota said and continued talking to his girl-friend.
A few seats behind Yuzaki were Ryosuke and Yuto. They were playing the Pokemon Black & White on their Nintendo DS. On the seats beside them were Kevin and Keito, the two best-friends.
"Kevin-nii, can you help me with this maths problem?" Keito asked Kevin as he showed his exercise book.
"Hey! We're on holiday! Keep that thing away!!" Yui said suddenly from her seat in-front of them as she looked back at them.
"Yeah! We wanna have fun!! Right guys?!" Daiki said from his seat.
"Ouh!!" everyone cheered.
They reached Sakura Hillside Inn around 9.00p.m. Everybody got down and to their surprise, the inn that they booked looked nothing like what they saw through the net. In the inn's website, it looked more modernized and had a very attracting look. What they saw in-front of them had nothing similar except for the entrance door. The inn in-front of them looked like an antique shop that was about to fall apart the moment they step in. The only thing that was attracting was the signboard of the inn which had neon lightings giving it a modern look. Hikaru tried to slide open the entrance door but it wouldn't bulge. Kota tried helping but it was no use, the door was stuck as if it was glued with super glue.
"Are you sure we're at the right place?" Ryosuke asked while he was trying to keep himself warm.
"Well, the sign does say that this is the Sakura Hillside Inn.." Yuzaki replied.
"Chotto... I'm coming!!" an elderly voice could be heard coming through the cracks on the wall and the door slided open, "Sorry kids, I had to lock the doors... Nowadays there are many robbers in this neighbourhood... To make things worst, I'm the only guy working here during the night shift."
"No problems old man! But can we go in now? It's freezing out here!!" Aya said with an irritated tone.
"AYA!" everyone scolded her for being so rude.
"No fighting kids.. No fighting.. Come on in..." the old man said and invited them in.
Everybody entered and all of them were surprised with the interior of the inn especially Aya. It was then when they truly understood the meaning of the phrase don't judge a book by it's cover. The interior of the inn was painted with a soothing beige color accompanied by a few decorations such as paintings, carved stones, flowers and other antiques. They waited at the lobby area while Hikaru went to the counter with Kota and Airi.
"Hi~ I'm Yaotome Hikaru.. This is Yabu Kota and she's Hasegawa Airi. I called for a reservation last week.."
"Ah~ Yes.. Hikaru-kun... You asked for two twin bedrooms and three double queen bedrooms." the old man replied.
"Yupe!! Hehe~ You remembered my name..." Hikaru said with a few giggles.
"Of course! You were very sweet and kind. It's hard getting customers like you nowadays... Here are your keys. The twin bedrooms will beon the ground floor and the other three rooms are on the second floor. I hope it's okay since you asked for the rooms to be on the same floor. But the double queen rooms are only available from the second floor up.."
"Owh! No problem jii-san.. It'll be okay!" Kota replied for Hikaru.
"You can just call me Gentarou.." the old man said.
"Hai!! Will do.. Thanks for the keys! So... How should we pay for the deposit?" Hikaru asked politely.
"No worried young lad. You guys seems trustworthy. Pay the whole lot when you leave next week." Gentarou said with a smile.
"Wah!! Thanks Gentarou-san!! You're awesome!!" Hikaru, Kota and Airi said together and bowed.
"What was with the shouting?" Yuzaki asked Hikaru when he reached their spot.
"Naah~ Gentarou-san was kind enough not to ask us any deposit money." Hikaru replied his friend, "Here's your room key, room G-01. You'll be staying with Yuri right?"
"Gentarou-san? Owh! Yup! I'm with Yuri." Yuzaki asked and said.
"Gentarou is that old man's name. Kevin! Here's your room key, room G-02. You will be with Keito right?" Hikaru replied Yuzaki and asked Kevin as he gave the room key.
"So Takaki-kun, here;s your key. Your room is 2-01. You'll be with Aya-chan, Michi-tan and Ryu-tan right?" Kota asked as he handed the room kei to Yuya, "I'll be in room 2-02 with Airi, Yui-chan and Inoo-chan. The rest will be with Hikaru. Okay?"
"Yes sir!!" Ryosuke, Yuto and Daiki said together.
After dividing their rooms, they said their goodbyes and went to their respective rooms. Yuzaki, Yuri, Kevin and Keito walked straight to the rooms while the remaining twelve had to take the elevator to the second floor.
"Goodnight Kevin-niichan, Keito-kun!" Yuri said to Kevin and Keito before entering his room.
"Goodnight Chinen.." Kevin and Keito replied Yuri.
"Keito, can you go in first? I need to talk to Kevin.." Yuzaki asked.
"Sure! Goodnight Aki-niichan!" Keito replied and went in.
"What's up Aki?" Kevin asked his friend.
"Kevin, don't you think there's something fishy about this place?"
"Well to be honest, I did felt a slight chill when we first arrived but I thought it might be the winter breeze."
Yuzaki looked at Kevin with a serious face and said, "I don't think it's the winter breeze. There's something fishy about this place. Especially when the old guy said he locked the door for safety measures."
"Now that you've said, I do find it weird too. But maybe it's true? We never came here before. So we don't know the neighborhood that well. Besides, Gentarou-san did say he was the only one working here at night right? Maybe we're thinking too much?" Kevin replied.
"Yeah... I think so.. Let's get some sleep, we have a long day tomorrow." Good night Kevin." Yuzaki said and walked into his room.
"Alright! Remember, we came here to have fun! Stop thinking too much bro~ Goodnight." Kevin replied and entered his room.
After arranging his and Yuri's shoes, Yuzaki walked to his bed and laid down; looking to the ceiling. As he was dazing through his thought, Yuri's head suddenly popped up in-front of him, releasing him from his daze.
"What's wrong Yuri?"
"Nii-chan, can I sleep with you tonight? I'm scared.. Please?" Yuri asked his brother with puppy eyes.
"Huh?? Well, it is your first time travelling without mom and dad. Sure.. Come on, hope on!" Yuzaki replied as he moved himself to the side, giving room to Yuri.
Yuri climbed on the bed and snuggled his head to his brother's arm. Although Yuri may be a troublemaker, his attitude towards his brother had never once changed throughout his 14 years of living. Yuri still loved being pampered by his big brother. To him, Yuzaki will forever be his beloved big brother and the same goes for Yuzaki. Despite all the troubles that Yuri had caused him, he never did once hated his brother. For Yuzaki, Yuri would always be his spoilt little brother.
"Aki-nii.. Did you have a bad dream on the train just now?" Yuri asked Yuzaki.
"Yeah,, It was the same type of dream when I dreamt about dad being shot. Only this time, I saw Dai-chan's hand being cut off by a chainsaw.."
"Eeeew!! Thats's gross!!" Yuri replied in shock
"I know right? It felt so real and I'm worried about Dai-chan..." Yuri's brother continued.
"You think to much Aki-nii... Nothing's gonna happen! Let's enjoy the holiday okay?" Yuri tried to calm his brother.
Yuzaki nodded and smiled to his brother that was laying o his arm. There was some truth in what Yuri said to him despite what had happened before. He decided to follow Yuri's advice and enjoy the holiday since it was a rare oppurtunity to go on a holiday with his friends.
Not long after Yuzaki and his friends headed to their rooms, the phone at the reception desk rang and Gentarou picked it up.
"Hello?" Gentarou said as he picked up the phone.
"How is it Gentarou-san?" a deep manly voice asked through the phone.
"I haven't found any suitable candidates sir. Please give me more time..." Gentarou replied.
"DON'T LIE TO ME! Remember! Your grand-daughter is still with me!!" the man replied with anger.
"Please... Please... Don't hurt her... I'll do anything you ask but please spare these children.. They are young and kind.." Gentarou pleaded.
"Young teenagers screams the best among all. Deliver one to me by tomorrow or I will kill your grand-daughter instead!" the man said and hung up the phone.
Gentarou slowly placed the phone handle with trembling hands. He looked to the wall beside him where a photo of him and his grand-daughter was hanging under a clock.
"Guess I'm not so awesome after all Hikaru-kun...." Gentarou said to himself.

"Well to be honest, I did felt a slight chill when we first arrived but I thought it might be the winter breeze."
Yuzaki looked at Kevin with a serious face and said, "I don't think it's the winter breeze. There's something fishy about this place. Especially when the old guy said he locked the door for safety measures."
"Now that you've said, I do find it weird too. But maybe it's true? We never came here before. So we don't know the neighborhood that well. Besides, Gentarou-san did say he was the only one working here at night right? Maybe we're thinking too much?" Kevin replied.
"Yeah... I think so.. Let's get some sleep, we have a long day tomorrow." Good night Kevin." Yuzaki said and walked into his room.
"Alright! Remember, we came here to have fun! Stop thinking too much bro~ Goodnight." Kevin replied and entered his room.
***** Room G-01 (Yuzaki & Yuri) *****
After arranging his and Yuri's shoes, Yuzaki walked to his bed and laid down; looking to the ceiling. As he was dazing through his thought, Yuri's head suddenly popped up in-front of him, releasing him from his daze.
"What's wrong Yuri?"
"Nii-chan, can I sleep with you tonight? I'm scared.. Please?" Yuri asked his brother with puppy eyes.
"Huh?? Well, it is your first time travelling without mom and dad. Sure.. Come on, hope on!" Yuzaki replied as he moved himself to the side, giving room to Yuri.
Yuri climbed on the bed and snuggled his head to his brother's arm. Although Yuri may be a troublemaker, his attitude towards his brother had never once changed throughout his 14 years of living. Yuri still loved being pampered by his big brother. To him, Yuzaki will forever be his beloved big brother and the same goes for Yuzaki. Despite all the troubles that Yuri had caused him, he never did once hated his brother. For Yuzaki, Yuri would always be his spoilt little brother.
"Aki-nii.. Did you have a bad dream on the train just now?" Yuri asked Yuzaki.
"Yeah,, It was the same type of dream when I dreamt about dad being shot. Only this time, I saw Dai-chan's hand being cut off by a chainsaw.."
"Eeeew!! Thats's gross!!" Yuri replied in shock
"I know right? It felt so real and I'm worried about Dai-chan..." Yuri's brother continued.
"You think to much Aki-nii... Nothing's gonna happen! Let's enjoy the holiday okay?" Yuri tried to calm his brother.
Yuzaki nodded and smiled to his brother that was laying o his arm. There was some truth in what Yuri said to him despite what had happened before. He decided to follow Yuri's advice and enjoy the holiday since it was a rare oppurtunity to go on a holiday with his friends.
***** Inn's Reception Desk (Gentarou) *****
Not long after Yuzaki and his friends headed to their rooms, the phone at the reception desk rang and Gentarou picked it up.
"Hello?" Gentarou said as he picked up the phone.
"How is it Gentarou-san?" a deep manly voice asked through the phone.
"I haven't found any suitable candidates sir. Please give me more time..." Gentarou replied.
"DON'T LIE TO ME! Remember! Your grand-daughter is still with me!!" the man replied with anger.
"Please... Please... Don't hurt her... I'll do anything you ask but please spare these children.. They are young and kind.." Gentarou pleaded.
"Young teenagers screams the best among all. Deliver one to me by tomorrow or I will kill your grand-daughter instead!" the man said and hung up the phone.
Gentarou slowly placed the phone handle with trembling hands. He looked to the wall beside him where a photo of him and his grand-daughter was hanging under a clock.
"Guess I'm not so awesome after all Hikaru-kun...." Gentarou said to himself.
